Middle East Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (MEFOMP) would like to congratulate the Iraqi Medical Physics Society (IMPS) in their recently commenced training course in Gamma Knife Stereotactic Radiosurgery. This is in collaboration with the Arab Board for Health Specializations in Iraq.
The course comprises of theoretical and clinical parts which will be held at Al-Mustansiriyah University, and the clinical part will be held at two gamma knife centers in Baghdad (Dr. Saad Al-Witry Neuroscience Hospital, and Al-Taj Private Hospital).
Ten postgraduate medical physicists members of IMPS were selected as participants. Training commenced on September 01, 2022 and will be ongoing for three (3) months. At the end of the course, participants will undergo theoretical and clinical examinations to be certified to work with gamma knife devices.
