The Medical Physics Department at Augusta Victoria Hospital, Palestine celebrated the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) 2021. The Medical Physics Department members (Mr. Ismail Abuawwad, Ms. Sahar Ashqar, Ms. Shaymaa Ghanem, Mr. Firas Khater, and Mr. Sharif Ghithan), Radiation Oncologists (Dr. Fadi Atrash, Dr. Fadel Rawashdeh, and Dr. Muath Badawi), and number of Radiations Therapists participated in the celebration. In addition, a number of medical professional staff from the Hospital also joined the celebration.
Mr. Ismail Abuawwad, Chief Medical Physicist started the celebration by welcoming and congratulating all medical physicists for this year's celebration followed by Dr Fadi Atrash, Radiation Therapy Department Head, gave a short talk about the radiation therapy department achievement’s during last year and about future plans for the coming year. Then, the discussion session was opened and some question from the audience were answered by the Medical Physicists, mainly about the main tasks of the medical physicists in radiotherapy. At the end of the celebration, the Medical Physicists were honored by Dr. Fadi Atrash for their great efforts in providing the best treatment service to patients.
