The improvement and the recognition of medical physics specialty in Iraq was greatly supported by the establishment of the Iraqi Medical Physics Society (IMPS) in 2011. Currently IMPS have about 120 (70% females and 30% males) medical physicists who are affiliated to different medical and academic institutions of the Iraqi provinces.
