In a vibrant celebration of the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP), members of the Middle East Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (MEFOMP), in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) and the Qatar Medical Physics Society (QaMPS), gathered to honor the pivotal role of medical physicists in shaping the future of healthcare.
Held under the theme “Medical Physics and Emerging Technologies: Shaping the Next Decade,” the event spotlighted the transformative impact of innovation in medical physics on patient safety, diagnostic accuracy, and therapeutic precision.
The event featured a recognition ceremony honoring outstanding contributions across various domains of medical physics:
- IOMP IDMP 2025 Award for Dr. Hadi Fayad
- IUPESM Award to Dr Huda Al-Naemi as AC Member of IUPESM 2022 – 2025
- IOMP fellow in 2025 for Dr Meshari AlNuaimi
These awards reflect the dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit of medical physicists across the region, reinforcing their commitment to excellence in radiation safety, quality assurance, and patient care.
In addition, QaMPS honored excellence in medical physics with two key recognitions:
- Best Medical Physicist: Ms. Samya Almanea, for outstanding contributions to radiation safety and quality assurance.
- Scientific Publication Award: Dr. Souha Aouadi, for impactful research advancing medical imaging and radiotherapy planning.
These awards celebrate innovation and commitment to patient-centered care.
As the region continues to invest in healthcare innovation, the IDMP celebration in Qatar stands as a testament to the unity and forward-thinking vision of its medical physics community.
