IMPS organized workshop for IDMP celebration




A joint workshop between the Iraqi Medical Physicists Society (IMPS) and Al-Falloja University of Applied Sciences was organized on the 7th of November 2020 as celebration for the International Day of Medical Physics. In line with the MEFOMP countries celebration for this special occasion. The workshop program contained lectures about the role of IMPS and MEFOMP in developing the medical physics profession especially in Iraq and the region as well the importance of being part of the international medical physics community. Dr. Nabaa Naji (IMPS President) focused in her lecture on the IMPCB exam, and the great experience that Iraqi medical physicists had during their participation last year in the board exam hosted in Doha, Qatar.
 
 

The total number of attendees were 213. They were academic staff of the Iraqi Universities, the physicists and medical physicists of the radiotherapy centers and cancer research center, the undergraduate students of the medical physics departments, the MSc. and PhD. students.
 
 

It is worth mentioning that medical physicists in Iraq are recognized as health professionals by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research as well by the Ministry of Health.
