MEFOMP Young Scientist Award 2021




Dr. Saad Ibrahim Aldelaijan, was awarded MEFOMP Young Scientist Award 2021during the International day of Medical Physics (IDMP) 2021 celebration held in Doha, Qatar.

This was awarded by Dr. Huda Al Naemi, President of MEFOMP. The award aims to recognize significant contributions and to recognize young scientists work in Medical Physics.

Dr. Aldelaijan is a Medical Physicist at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSH&RC), Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he has successfully completed an IAEA-accredited three-year Medical Physics Residency program in Radiation Oncology Physics in 2016.

He is currently board-certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics by The American Board of Radiolor› (ABR). He specializes in Radiation Oncology Physics, Brachytherapy and Radiation Dosimetry.

He has contributed to 24 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 18 invited talks/seminars, and 46 abstract presentations in leading international conferences. His PhD thesis on advancing the quality assurance (QA) of image-guided brachytherapy (IGBT) and radiochromic film dosimetry was awarded the 2020 Leslie A. Geddes Prize for Excellence in Biomedical Engineering by McGill University, Canada.
