About the award
MEFOMP Young Scientist Award is given to recognize significant scientific contributions and to recognize young medical physicists working in the middle east.
How to apply
Fill out the award application form and send it by email to the chairman of awards and honors committee Dr. Zakyia Alrahbi z.alra7bi@gmail.com with a copy to Secretary General of MEFOMP Dr. Refaat Almazrou Mazrou@kfshrc.edu.sa no later than 30th October 2023.
The form should include the following:
1. Curriculum Vitae (CV) with copies of all published scientific works.
2. Please use one of the cloud storage services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, etc. to download all published works as mentioned above, provided that the works are in PDF format.
3. A supporting letter evaluating nominee’s achievements from the National Member Organizations (NMO) or a senior medical physicist.
Nominations
• The award is only open to medical physicists in MEFOMP countries.
• Self-nomination shall be submitted.
• The age of the applicant should not be more than 40 years when applying for the award.
• The applicant must hold an MSc or PhD degree in medical physics
• The award may only be received one time by any individual.
• Nominee shall not be a current member of the MEFOMP Awards & Honors Committee or the MEFOMP Executive Committee.
The applicant should have performed medical physics work of outstanding quality.This work or scientific production should include one or more of the following:

- Research published or accepted for publication in refereed scientific journals
- Research published in the proceedings of scientific conferences.
- Presentations or posters at scientific conferences.
- Authored, translated, or edited books, or authored chapters in a book.
- Articles, studies, scientific reports and patents.
Rewards
- The winner will be announced on Nov 13, 2023
- The winner will be invited to an awards ceremony, usually held in November, to receive their award from the MEFOMP President and/or MEFOMP ExCom officer or representative.
- The winner will receive a special certificate and a cash prize of $ 300 personal award
- A short biography of the awardee will be posted on MEFOMP website.
