From 29 September to 4 October 2025, the global community of medical physicists and biomedical engineers gathered in Adelaide, Australia for the IUPESM World Congress 2025. This major international event brought together professionals, leaders, and innovators from around the world.
The Middle East Federation of Organizations of Medical Physics (MEFOMP) was strongly represented by:
• Dr. Hassan Kharita — President
• Dr. Zakiya Alrahbi — Treasurer
• Dr. Sheaka Alobaidli — Professional Relations Chair
• Dr. Hadi Fayad — Vice Chair of Awards and Honors Committee
Their presence highlighted MEFOMP’s commitment to advancing medical physics and strengthening international collaborations.
During the congress, the MEFOMP delegation held productive discussions with representatives of:
• AFOMP (Asia-Oceania Federation of Organizations for Medical Physics)
• FAMPO (Federation of African Medical Physics Organizations)
• LAFMP (Latin American Federation of Medical Physics)
These meetings focused on building stronger ties between regional federations and fostering collaboration in Joint Education & Training — including workshops, webinars, and professional development.
Collaborative Conferences — co-hosting sessions in upcoming regional and world congresses.
These discussions are expected to result in new partnerships and formal collaboration agreements in the near future.
