Members of MEFOMP celebrated the IOMP IDMP award which was honored this year to Dr Hassan Kharita in recognition for his excellence in Medical Physics with a view of promoting medical physics to a larger audience and highlighting the contributions medical physicists make for patient care. The IDMP Award is linked to the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) from which it takes its name. The 2020 IDMP theme is “Medical Physicist as a Health Professional”.
The IDMP Award consists of an IOMP certificate, and additionally a short biography of the awardee will be published in the IOMP Newsletter Medical Physics World.
Dr Huda Al Naemi, MEFOMP president handed over the IOMP certificate on behalf of all MEFOMP members congratulate him and wished him more success in his professional career.
Dr. Kharita has vast experience in the medical physics field as radiation safety expert, he worked in different countries and he was managing the radiation protection training programme in Syria before he joined IAEA as a radiation safety consultant. He has a lot of international collaborations and he published large number of scientific publications.
