The Middle East Federation for Medical Physics announces the opening of nominations to the young scientists award and the outreach & engagement award for the year 2022, which come to honor distinguished contributions and efforts to raise the awareness about the profession .
First : MEFOMP Outreach and Engagement Award 2022
MEFOMP Prize for Outreach is given to a medical physicist from the region to
recognize especially significant outreach achievements that increased public
understanding of medical physics profession.
The award will be given based on the following criteria:
1. Sustained commitment to increasing public awareness of medical physics
profession
2. Social media initiatives that have increased awareness of medical physics
3. Articles in newspapers or newsletters promoting medical physics
4. Public seminars, events, and interviews to promote medical physics
How to apply
• Individual nomination shall be submitted
• The nomination form shall be completed and submitted by email to
mefomp.ins@gmail.com or to the chairman of awards and honors
committee Dr. Zakyia Alrahbi z.alra7bi@gmail.com with a copy to Secretary
General of MEFOMP Dr. Refaat Almazrou rmazrou@gmail.com no later
than 15th October 2022.
Rewards
• The winner will be announced on Nov 7, 2022
• The winner will be invited to an awards ceremony, usually held in
November in his or her country , to receive their award from the MEFOMP President and/or
MEFOMP ExCom officer or representative.
• The winner will receive a special certificate and a cash prize of $ 300
personal award
• A short biography of the awardee will be posted on MEFOMP website.
Second : The MEFOMP Young Scientist Award 2022
MEFOMP young scientist award is only open to Medical Physicists studying or
working in any MEFOMP countries and will be given to recognize significant contributions in the followings:
1. Scientific publications
2. Presentations in conferences and workshops
3. Educational activities for students and graduates
4. The recipient of the award should be under 40 years of age on 31 Dec. 2022
4. The recipient of the award should be under 40 years of age on 31 Dec. 2022
5. Minimum of MSc in medical physics
6. The award may only be received one time by any individual.
7. Nominee shall not be a current member of the MEFOMP Awards & Honors
Committee or the MEFOMP Executive Committee.
8. All nominations should include the following:
A. A supporting letter evaluating nominee’s achievements from the
National medical physics society or a senior medical physicist.
B. CV with evidence of all scientific works e.g. publications.
