In line with internationally recognized similar Medical Organizations such as Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, USA and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Department renamed its Radiation Safety Section to be recognized and referred as Medical Physics Section (MPS).
The new name as defined by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) covers all the specialties of Medical Physics including Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Physics, Nuclear Medicine Physics and Medical Health Physics (Radiation Protection and Safety).
All the Medical Physicists under MPS are performing regular duties and responsibilities covering Quality Control, Quality Improvement in addition to Scientific Research, where Radiation Safety is a part of the tasks that Medical Physicists execute.
