MEFOMP Celebration IDMP 2021 in Qatar




The Middle East Federation for the Organization of Medical Physics (MEFOMP) in collaboration with from Qatar Medical Physics Society (QaMPS) has celebrated the International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) 2021. The celebration took place in Doha, Qatar with the participation of Dr. Meshari Al-Naemi, Vice President of MEFOMP and President of Kuwait Medical Physics Society; number of medical professional staff from Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha attended the event.

Dr Huda al Naemi, MEFOMP president started the celebration with welcoming and congratulating all medical physicists for the IOMP, this is followed by presentation from Dr Hassan Kharita (General Secretary) about the MEFOMP achievement during last year and a presentation from Dr. Rabiah Hammouda (MEFOMP Treasurer) about the history of Medical Physics Science and Career.

Dr. Huda announced the winner of IOMP IDMP-2021 award for the region which is given to Dr. Meshary AL Naemi (MEFOMP Vice Chair). She also announced the winner of MEFOMP Young Scientist Award 2021 which is given to Dr. Saad Aldelaijan (Saudi Arabia).

A friendly Q&A portion among the Medical Physicists to describe the role of Medical Physicist in the hospital and how to communicate this role to public, which is the theme of the IDMP celebration this year, each answer awarded with a small gift as a recognition for contribution.

By the end of the celebration, IDMP 2021 cake cutting to be shared with all participants.

All covid-19 regulations have been followed during the celebration.
